Visiting Corris Craft Centre in Mid Wales
Corris Craft Centre is open daily from April to October from 10am to 5pm, although many of the Craftspeople will be in their workshops ouside of these hours. This week is Half Term week (Saturday 11th to Sunday 19th February) and many of the Craft Studios are open.
From November to March not all of the Craft workshops open all of the time. It's always best to phone individual workshops to check opening times before making a special journey.
Call in, entry is free, and see the fabulous selection of hand crafted gifts and unique items for your home and garden. You will often get to meet the craftspeople themselves and see them at work.
You can also roll up your sleeves and have some fun, with many of the Craftspeople now offering drop in sessions and workshops. Drop in to paint a piece of pottery, mix herbals and to dip a pair of candles. Or book ahead to make designer cards or to craft a piece of rustic furniture.
Corris Craft Centre is situated on the main A487 between Machynlleth and Dolgellau. There is plenty of free car and coach parking with blue badge spaces within a few yards of the Craft Centre.
Corris Craft Centre is easily accessible by public transport. There are direct trains from Birmingham to Machynlleth every two hours. There are regular buses from Aberystwyth, Machynlleth and Dolgellau (X 32 stops outside, 34 stops in Corris). Sustrans cycle route 8 passes nearby.
Corris Craft Centre is also the starting point for the King Arthur's Labyrinth Underground Adventure, Bards' Quest, Corris Mine Explorers and the brand new Otherworld Theatre. With so much to see and do, make a day of it; Y Crochan serves hot and cold meals, snacks and drinks throughout the day...
