Corris Craft Centre, near Machynlleth in Mid Wales, has nine Craft workshops packed with unique hand crafted items for your home, garden and gifts for others.
Talented craftspeople can be seen producing a range of quality items ranging from traditional, rustic and contemporary. Visitors to the Craft Centre will see the Craftspeople at work and can buy directly from them. The perfect place for very special, yet slightly unusual, items for yourself, your family and friends.
Choose from unique Celtic and contemporary jewellery, leatherwork, hand carved candles, traditional wooden toys, ceramics and pottery, herbal lotions and remedies, hand-blown glass, rustic furniture and hand made and personalised cards. Many of the Craftspeople now also invite you to roll up your sleeves and have a go at making your own crafts. Drop in to paint pottery, dip candles and to mix your own herbals. You can also book ahead for a rustic furniture building workshop.
Also starting from the Craft Centre is a range of attractions to suit all members of the family: King Arthur's Labyrinth is an underground storytelling adventure, where visitors sail underground and through a waterfall to the past. Back in the darkest of the Dark Ages tales of King Arthur and other ancient Welsh legends are told with dramatic scenes, light and sound. The King Arthur's Labyrinth shop sells a wide range of books, gifts and souvenirs on the Celtic Arthurian theme.
A further attraction, which also starts from the Craft Centre is Corris Mine Explorers which provides visitors with a rare opportunity to explore the abandoned workings of an old Welsh slate mine with one of Wales' top Mine Explorers. The mine was first worked in 1836 and abandoned by the miners around 40 years ago. More than 130 years of mining history is captured inside waiting to be discovered.
At the centre of all of these attractions is Y Crochan cafe where a tasty range of hot and cold food and drinks are served throughout the day. There is also a small childrens play area on site.
