Quarry Pottery turns 40

Pottery Throwing Experience at Quarry Pottery, Corris Craft Centre

March 7th 2022

We opened our doors in March 1982 to the first Corris Craft Centre customers. In our 40th year we plan to bring new pottery and pottery activities to the Craft Centre.

Colourful stoneware is our main focus this year. We are currently working on 4 glaze finishes. This takes time and provides lots of challenges to our ceramicists. We test the glazes on different clays fired at different temperatures. Once we find the best combinations the work then turns to replicating each finish so that it is consistent. This allows us to sell them online and provides collectors with an opportunity to replace or buy more.

We will also, for the first time, be running pottery throwing experiences. This is an exciting opportunity for us to provide a fun and memorable activity for visitors to the Craft Centre.

We have also launched our new website, www.quarrypottery.co.uk. The website will bring together all our products and services.

We look forward to our 40th year and can’t wait to see new and regular visitors.
