Emily Klein
My name's Emily and I'm a local watercolour artist who moved to Corris Uchaf village 4 years ago after living a nomadic life with a Welsh travelling circus. Since I was a young child, drawing & creating has always enthralled me & helped me tap into a part of me which finds focus and peace. It was following a trip in my truck home to the area to visit friends that I found a larger group of people, and my new cottage home. I made the change from living on the road to a grounded life as I just fell in love with Wales all over again. I finally had the space, the light and the time to rediscover painting and my art work became something I had to do rather than a hobby of mine. My skill deepened and people started asking for my work as gifts and through this, I found my confidence and ability soared.

Our Inspiration
I came to the area and was totally inspired by the unique and wild landscape, the open skies by the sea and the dense woodlands where I walk daily with my Chinese crested rescue dog. The colour tones of this vast natural landscape when in a deep mist, or a rain storm or when the sun hits the new spring leaves or the water, the colour pallet is unique and inspiring. Also what has touched my heart and encouraged me to follow my dream of bringing my art work and colourful creations to this space is my community of creative people that surrounds me. Here I have found such a strong sense of self which has been guided by the immense humans I have met and walk alongside.
My crafts and art has evolved to include many different mediums, and I currently run a local life drawing group, I also teach art to a local student but my main love is watercolour and fabric painting.
It's a real honour to be able to gently and lovingly recreate beautiful paintings of people's beloved pets and a gift to see their reactions when they see it for the first time. Memorial paintings are something that I feel so very proud to be trusted with especially.
