Kevin Brown and Hannah Roberts
We are Kevin, designer and maker, and Hannah, maker and chief decorator. Together we are Welsh glass sculpture artists.
I began working with glass in 1977 at “Glass by David”. After several months performing repetitive jobs, I did a short intensive course, learning how to sculpt glass flowers. The company ran into difficulties, and I was made redundant, but continued to design and make as a hobby. In 1984, I started Delyn Glass in South Wales, supplying retail outlets nationally. In 2005 when I had an opportunity to join the creative community in Corris, where I could also interact with my customers, I was very happy to relocate.
Hannah, who has a B.A. (Hons) in Glass and a background in Art & Design, makes some items and does most of the delicate, hand decoration of items.
Unique, handmade glass sculptures
We design, handcraft and finish a large range of glass flowers, birds, wildlife, sea life and mythical beasts, including our signature Welsh Dragon art sculptures, fantasy, and caricature dragons.
In addition, we accept commissions. We recycle wine and spirit bottles, turning them into “Bottle clocks” and cheese boards for sale.
In addition to our own unique designs we retail a small selection of hanging crystal rainbow makers and Guardian angels and a range of decorative, handmade glass globes, hydro globes, oil burners and candleholders. Finally, we stock glass tankards that can be personalised by glass etching. Stop by our glass sculpture artist shop on your day out in North Wales!
Our Inspiration
I am very fortunate to live in a beautiful, rural, coastal village between the mountains and the sea. Dolphins play in Cardigan bay, birds of prey fly overhead and the hedgerows and verges are sprinkled with colourful wild flowers that change with the seasons. My daily commute brings me inland past Tal y Llyn lake and then on to the woodland of Corris. Every journey is an immersion into the beauty of the area and inspires my designs.
