Taran Eco Designs launch woodworking and furniture building courses for 2025

Taran Eco Designs now offer a wide range of woodworking courses to anyone who wants to create some magic with wood. A range of short courses are available to make a chopping board, an oak swing, or a shelf. A full day furniture making course is also offered, where you can make your choice of a dining chair, tall stool, hobbit stool, or small coffee table.
Courses range from 1.5 hours to a full day and no previous carpentry experience is needed. All of Taran Eco Design’s courses offer an opportunity to learn from John and the team about our native hardwoods, how these can be crafted into useful items, and the safe use of the tools used to do so. You can take your finished piece home at the end of each course.
Pyrography
Taran Eco Designs have also created a Pyrography Course where you can learn the art of woodburning. Either a 30 or 60 minute session, you will be taught the use of the pyrography pen and have a chance to practice this, before creating your own pyrography masterpiece to take home.

Taran Eco Designs create beautiful items from locally sourced hardwoods - these might be reclaimed historical timbers, redundant oak fence posts and fallen trees gathered from local farms, or surplus wood from local sawmills. Having carried fence posts off mountains and combed the seashore for driftwood, they know the importance of maintaining the beauty that surrounds them. They sell salvaged saplings that were growing on footpaths where they wouldn’t have a chance to survive, along with their own woodland where they plant trees. Every piece of wood has a purpose, whether that’s an ornament, chopping board, furniture, sawdust or simply firewood, nothing is wasted.
