Winter Warmers at Y Crochan Cafe

Warming Vegetable Goulash at Y Crochan Cafe at Corris Craft Centre

December 9th 2021

Y Crochan Café is the café at Corris Craft Centre.  Its name Y Crochan is Welsh for The Cauldron and there’s always something delicious bubbling away in the kitchen; at this time of year it's warming dishes for their winter menu.

Y Crochan’s weekly menus now feature fabulous winter warmer dishes and have included spicy vegetable goulash, leek and potato soup, Welsh lamb cawl, toasted garlic baguette with Dragon cheddar and their signature dish Welsh rarebit.  And, to finish, there's always a selection of cakes including a deliciously festive cranberry and white chocolate shortbread.  This week their Dish of the Day is Celtic Pride Welsh BBQ Beef Burger, a 6oz beef burger in a beer bap topped with bacon and BBQ sauce, it's amazing.

The kitchen team can cater for all food allergens, please tell them when you order, or phone in advance 01654 761437.

Welsh produce features heavily across their menu and many of the ingredients are taken from the adjoining Bwtri Y Crochan shop (Bwtri is Welsh for larder / pantry), a shop dedicated to food and drink that has been grown, reared and produced in Wales.  At this time of year they’re busy taking orders and preparing Welsh food and drink Christmas hampers and making their Tipples Christmas Crackers -each cracker contains a 5cl bottle of either Barti Ddu Rum or Merlyn Cream Liqueur, a snap, hat and joke – they’re environmentally conscious too with no plastic.  Christmas Hamper orders can be placed by calling 01654 761437 or call in to choose your favourite Welsh produce.

Y Crochan Café and Bwtri Y Crochan shop open Wednesdays to Sundays 11am to 4pm until 19th December.
